IBM coating method CIGS solar cells
According to the Nikkei BP news agency reported the formation of the United States IBM to coated CIGS (Cu, In, Ga, Se) solar cell conversion efficiency of 12.8%. And held in Calcutta, India "18th International Photovoltaic Science and Engineering Conference & Exhibition" published (Lecture title: SPIN COATING OF DEVICE-QUALITY CIGS FILMS USING A HYDRAZINE-BASED APPROACH).
IBM and Tokyo should be the chemical industry has been committed to developing CIGS solar cell manufacturing process technology. Goal is conversion efficiency of production under atmospheric pressure for 15% of the CIGS solar cell modules.
In a speech this, IBM introduced the use of coating technology area of the formation of two different kinds of open trial module. Among them, the area 0.45cm2 module conversion efficiency of 12.8%. Short-circuit current 28.2mA/cm2, open voltage of 0.63V, curve factor of 71.5%. Area 1.1cm2 module conversion efficiency of 11.6%.
This is about the thickness of 1400nm in 10 times CIGS layer coating. Coating were examined by the short time heat treatment, while the coating when the first 10 times longer heat treatment time. Heat treatment temperature is about 500 °C. Speech, introduced the following heat treatment at 500 °C temperature increase characteristics of O2 could increase, but 12.8% did not disclose details of the conditions of manufacturing efficiency.
